Video, Trailers and Commons
Hi everyone, this week topic is Google video, YouTube video and Movie Trailers. First of all, I want to talk about Movie Trailers. As you have noticed, trailers can be sorted into standard (including small, medium or large) trailer and high definition (including 480P, 720P and 1080P). Comparing the HD 1080 and the standard trailers, HD1080 trailers are more clear and brighter than the standard ones. The reason for this is because there are more dots in the horizontal lines of the screen, as a result, the video show more clear pictures. Beside comparing the HD and Standard trailers, I also watcahed 3 movie trailers as shown:
Stardust, Fido, Illegal Tender and Across the Universe. Within these movies, I would love to watch the first and the last movies, but not Fido. Plz feel free to watch the trailers and see for yourself.
Now, I am going to talk about Google and YouTube video. Although YouTube is now owned by Google, there are some differences between them. First of all, YouTube allows users to be sorted into communities (including groups and contests) and Channels (including Comedians, Directors, Gurus, Musicians, Partners, Sponsors and YouChoose 08) while Google does not sort the video by users. The similarity between Google and YouTube are that both also sort the video by categories (including Comedy, Music video, Sports, Animations, TV show, etc. ) and can blog or upload video in my own blog. Therefore, I guess the reason why YouTube is successful is because they provide a better or more complete services compared to Google. However, what should you do if you want to download a video of your choice? Well, here I am going to provide 2 sites for downloading and playing the video of interested:

The first site provided is actually in Chinese. Here is another easier way.

43 things.com --- something everyone should try
So what does this www.43things.com do? Well, actually this site allows you to put things (can be more than 43 things) you want to do in your life. It not only allows you to put your want to do list and you can put it to had done list after you are done. As you can see from the right, I had post my want to do list and have done list in my blog. However, if you ask me if I think this is such a good idea, I would honestly tell you that it all depends on how the users think. Some people who really care about the to do list, you can follow the list even if you write on paper. But for some who don't really care, it wouldn't matter where the list is written, it will never be accomplished. Despite how people think, this site allows you to put your list on the site so you will never lose the list (except if you forgot the site). The instructions for this site are very easy to follow, anyone who know how to use computer can easily follow them. Therefore, to me I think it is really convenience and easy to use. Overall, I would recommand people to give this site a try even if you don't really care about the list, you can always see commands on how people do something in your list. Hope you can enjoy and try to do all the 2 do things in your list. ^^ ciao

Using the podcast .... Do I Enjoy it? Check it out ^^
Hi everyone, the topic for this week is podcast. Podcast allows you to listen to all kinds of things online, including news, music, health report and more. I had chosen 3 topics to listen this week, they were piano (http://www.podcast.net/show/41690), Spanish (http://www.podcast.net/show/69294) and the analysing the phenotype and function of regulatory T cells (http://www.podcast.net/show/65563). The reasons I choice them are because I like piano, and I hope to learn some other language for my own sake, and I am biochemistry. major, so I had better know more about what I am doing. Although I really enjoy podcast, but it seems that some of the podcast are no longer available or no more update. Therefore, I feel pretty disappointed about this. The good thing about podcast is that you don't need to worry if you miss anything like TV shows or radio. Overall, I think there are still many space for improvement for podcast and I really like such idea. (ps: I tried to look for the site for the episode I listen to, but it seems there are some technical problem with the site, sorry about this, but I usually just listen to the first one provided, thx).
Beside podcast, there are other choice as well, for example, audiobook. Audiobook allows you to listen to people reading the book online. Although it takes more time when you listen to audiobook, you can always listen to them when you don't have time to read or when you can't read at that time. From our teacher's point of view, when you listen to audiobook, you can usually finish the whole book instead of stopping more often to take a break from reading the book. From http://www.audiobooksforfree.com/screen_main.asp, I can sign up the site for free and I can also download some audiobook for free too. However, all the books are pretty old already, the book I choice was The Blue Room by Prosper Merimee. Although I really like the idea of audiobook, but I would prefer reading it myself. Not because they seem to be more expansive, but I just like to hold the book to read. An exception is when I am learning the language or when I get too old to read anything, then I will buy an audiobook I like to listen. Overall, I think the idea of audiobook is great for some but not as useful for others. Therefore, it all depends on how you think and what you prefer. I can't really say much about both podcast and audiobook, but I would recommand you on trying them out, just to see if you like them. My third Creation and how I think about online generator
This week, I was told to use online generator to create at least 3 masterpiece of my own. As shown below, I had used http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/calendar.php to create my own calendar and http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/billboard.php to create my own fake photos, which were very awesome. The last one I did was as follow:
using http://kscakes.com/LolCats/. Beside all the sites provided, I also found some other sites for online generator. One of my favorite is http://imagemosaicgenerator.click42.com/ . It is very easy, all you need to do is to give it a picture of your own and it will generate a new picture that is a combination of all kinds of pictures from Flickr to generate yours, as shown below. .jpg)

Another site I found was http://www.buttongenerator.com/index.php?start=6, it helps you generate a button of your own. It is very useful when you are writing a homepage. There are also other sites, such as http://dmitry.baranovskiy.com/work/csc/, which helps you with making a working schedule. There are also other sites for fake name generating, company name generating, password generating, screen saver generating, etc. From the generators mentioned, they can be involved in many applications, such as the user id and password for blog. Another application is the generation of wallpaper, which sound great for blogging too. Overall, I think online generators are great, not only that they save time, but they also provide varieties of uses, which all sounds great to me. These generators are all easy to use, my favorite online generator site is http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/, because it provides with varieties of choices and most of them are useful to me. Although I didn't provide all the generator site I found, you are free to look up for them in Google. Most of these generators are free, so no worry about money.
